Shadowy Amphitheatre

Amphitheatre

Abandoned amphitheatre, San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, México

no strutting players
mumbling their memorized lines
only one hand claps

I know I should be drawn to the light...but I want to ascend those shadowy steps.

The layout is all wonky, and I have no idea why!

Found it! The photo was reading right alignment yet all the rest of the post was in the middle. Like a disagreement of commands! All fixed!

I don't know if that King James quote has been there all along, but I just now noticed it-what a great quote and I want to go to that amphitheater!

Lovely play of light and shadow. I like that the shadowy part is in the foreground; there's a sensation of being led into the light.

What a beautiful scene the amphitheater makes. It has a very peaceful feel to it. It looks to be well maintained even though it is abandoned.
Happy Sunday!

I love the shadows, but in this case the light as well. Don't know why it's been abandoned, but it makes a great photo!

Love this shot.
It conjures up the feeling of ancient history and deep reflection.
Great verse you accompanied with it too.

Love this...it is like a puzzle with the shadows, steps, and stones all leading to somewhere special...almost like a step back in time. Great haiku...I can almost visualize the Shakespearean players milling about in their finery!
