It always seems so incongruous to see sand and snow together. A lovely shadow shot!

Very nice shot. They deserts of Arizona and New Mexico are great spots for photos. Thanks for sharing. I've been "horsing around" for my post this week.

Hi MMT,

Snow? I don't think of snow when I think Arizona. ;-)

Long indeed is the journey.

Thanks for hosting.

I love the combination of Snow and sand. I don't usually see them together. Great shot!

....ummm, is that snow in the shadows? Hmmmm, desert area?

it's like 2 seasons side by side
snowy winter and sandy summer
very cool

I love the word arroyo, and your poem, and the snow.

So ironic to see the snow in the desert. It's water, but it stays on the surface. It might even evaporate (there's a word for that but I forget) before it melts into the earth.

At first that looks like water slipping down! Love this shadowy meeting of snow and sand!

At first, it looks like a warm and cozy day meant to be spent meandering through this dry creek bed. Then the snow comes into view and it all changes; the temperature drops, but I just put on a down vest and keep on walking. I love this!
