This lady appears in Melbourne by the Yarra River each summer holidays.
She creates a very still, gold mime, with just a hint of movement - maybe a wink, maybe a slightly changing smile, maybe a very very slow turn.
Here she represents the tennis season currently happening in Melbourne.
And many people love to be photographed with her.
O silent lady
Are you longing to break free
From your coat of gold

I am seeking and collecting shadow quotes.
If you find a shadow quote, (or would like to create your own) include it in ANY of your SSS2 blog posts.
(There is now a button for shadow quotes just beneath the header. This will be a database of shadow quotes, so you will see what has been collected.)
Each time it is my turn to post on SSS2, I will include one of these quotes + a link to your blog post.
May the sunlight and shadows always be with you!

Great shot !!
Beautiful shot and quote!

Have a great weekend.
I have too many ants in my pants to stand still that long!
These living statues are so neat!! Fun shot. :)
How fun is that? Got to give her credit for standing on such a small spot & staying still!
Wishing you all a lovely SSS!!

Living statues are amazing, how can they do it? Stand still for ages...
That is terrific and amazing! I'm another one of those who couldn't stand still that long! I love it! What a great shadow shot for the day, Gemma!!
what an amazing career! :)
I could never stand there like that! She is a talented lady.
I'll keep my eye out for shadow quotes.
Thanks for hosting, Gemma!
This is so lifelike! The subtle movements add some mystery. She looks ready to return the ball across the net with her backswing...
This lady possess strength and beauty! Beautiful shot Gemma.

yah...agreed, no standing that still for me...all i have to do is think about not moving and i get the hebbie-gebbies. great shadow shot today!!!!
I think you have to be very good at being still to be a mime. I always admire that ability.
I love seeing these statues - I don't know how they can still for so long - my nose would prommptly start to itch!!
great shadow shot! I love those live statues on the streets!
she's a wonderful statue
great street scene
I love those artists. We have one that dresses as a witch statue here, every Halloween. Have a great shadow shot Sunday everyone!
OMGosh-- Real? Statue? Real Statue? I could stare at her for hours--thanks for the backstory!!!
What a way to start!
Love the quote you shared this week!! And the Golden Girl is fantastic.
Wow! I am drooling the sunshine!
Looks a happy day and with your prose? What can I ask for more.
Greetings from icy Stockholm,
I would want my picture taken with her too!
very cool photo, what a fun job that must be.....thank you for hosting
that is a talent, to be still for so long and in the heat too, wow!
I have never seen one in person before, really. How awesome is that! :) My first visit and my first Shadow Sunday Shot Sunday entry. :)
Love the Shadow Shot! Also love your sweet words.
Been so long since I've been here, I missed the entire changeover. Please tell me if I didn't do something correctly. In the meantime, great to be back. I'll get to visiting blogs tonight and tomorrow. Peace to all.
I love the mime
Nice street scene ! It must be quite a meditation to remain still for a long time !
how beautiful! great shadows ;)
Hi!!I thought she was a real statue! That takes great patience! Thanx for the mini vacation! Sunny109
I have seen different ones doing this in malls. I never could understand how they could be so still. I would need to scratch something.
Great shadows! The golden girl is quiet talented.
Wishing you from California a very Happy Sunday :)
I had to take a second look. It reminds me of this: http://www.looseleafnotes.com/wp/2012/02/be-mime/
What a great find for SSS2! I would love to have a photograph with her too.. :)
I get a kick out of living statues. The majority of them here in NYC seem to be Statues of Liberty (makes sense, but it's hard to hold your arm up like that for a long time).
gorgeous shot. What I don´t understans is how they manage to stand still like that. I know I couldn´t.
Such a great shot of an amazing lady!
Wow. That is so cool. Great picture.
I've seen 'living statues' in New Orleans and Venice Italy .. but never one so 'cute' . and w/o the golden face ..
She seems to have a sense of adventure and patience. :-) Great photo. My post has a shadow and two of my previous ones showed up in quote search: www.seeds4thoughts.com/2010/08/never-fear-shadows.html
Thanks for carrying on this great meme. Have a blessed week end!!
Pretty cool shot! We did our shot on a little natural gold today - the sun! Happy Shadow Shot Sunday!
What an amazing thing to do. Bet it's not easy to wash off all that gold. Nice shadow. Thanks for hosting this. My first time to post here.
What a fantastic capture of mood and moment.
What a great shot! Love the shadows and the haiku!
Super shot! I think that it's amazing how still they can stand!
I've added my shadow "shot," but it's in my painting. Hope that that's okay.
Thanks for your visit!
I sometimes see those living statues here around my pond.
P.S. The link you left is not loading, dito nalang ako. Nadiscover ko to tuloy :)
