Shadows cannot see themselves in the mirror of the sun - Eva Perron..................
Worry gives a small thing a big shadow - Swedish proverb ............................
Take everything that’s bright and beautiful in you and introduce it to the shadow side of yourself… When you are able to say, ‘I am … my shadow as well as my light,’ the shadow’s power is put in service of the good. - Parker J. Palmer........................You can only come to the morning through the shadows. - J.R.R. Tolkien
Let's say a little prayer for the Massachusetts Math teacher who was murdered by a student in Danvers High School. A little prayer can bring the family some comfort in the time of grief.
Colleen, there have been two shootings this week, one a teacher who'd served in the Marines and the young woman teacher. I think prayers are needed for our society to step up a way to diagnose this young people who think the only way to solve problems is to kill others. When it happens in schools, it's especially tragic.
The darkness of the soul seems to overwhelm us with nary an end in sight. Yet, the smallest flame, however flickering, overwhelms the darkness and gives us a sense of hope. As if the flame really shows us that love can conquer the worst of the darkness. We need to have that hope to overcome evil...
(The demolition of that school building has begun this week. We hope and pray for a new beginning where the flame of love will shine brightly)
I have just enjoyed Ralph's beautiful comment. A difficult act to follow. So I will refer to the photo itself. A beautiful appeal for community prayers and hope and support.

Sad, sad, sad.
I hope children would be heard before it's too late...
Great
saying a prayer for that young woman's family and all who knew her
Looks like a face. I thought the teacher shooting was in Nevada. Maybe there are two new shootings.
Yes, many, many prayers. A very thoughtful gesture!
thank you for asking for prayers for this family.
Heavenly Father has taken her home and I am sure that angels are surrounding the family.

Flame, a source of light, leaves a shadow itself. I'll be keeping the students and teachers of DHS in my prayers.
beautiful image for such an awful senseless act.
How sad. I pray for consolation for her family.
Thank you so much for leading us in prayer this morning.
