Shadow Shot Sunday ~ Strange Garden Feature

A rather strange feature at the end of a driveway in the Dromana Hills, Mornington Peninsula

Garden curiosity
Like a portable furnace
Land of Giants' toy

Welcome to the new world of Shadow Shot Sunday!

Your hosts are:
Magical Mystical Teacher
Rose (a.k.a. chubskulit)
Gemma Wiseman

Shadow quote found on Rambling Woods blog:
What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset.
~ Crowfoot Tribe

NEWS FLASH!
I am seeking and collecting shadow quotes.
If you find a shadow quote, (or would like to create your own) include it in ANY of your SSS2 blog posts.
(There is now a button for shadow quotes just beneath the header. This will be a database of shadow quotes, so you will see what has been collected.)
Each time it is my turn to post on SSS2, I will include one of these quotes + a link to your blog post.
PLUS
Antonella of
Quilling, Art and Expression
is offering free digi-s each week of the SSS2 quote!
Her first post is
HERE
and her second is
HERE!
Thank you ever so much from all the shadow catchers!

May the sunlight and shadows always be with you!

That is a common feature in alot of gardens : ) Only with our fire regulations .. we can't have one .. but if I only use it for decoration ? .. a very pretty shadow shot indeed though !

thank you for hosting SSS2!

I used to have a chiminea similar to that one. It is a great way to contain a small fire as an outdoor fireplace. :)

Robin at One Still Frame has a great collection of shadow quotes. If she doesn't send you what she has, I can send you what I've 'collected' from her (which will not be nearly as extensive as what she has.
Great idea!!!!!

It looks like a large mouth, fairytale size. I like the shadows on the shingles too. Here's entry on Shadows that I once posted on my blog with maybe a quote in it somewhere: http://www.looseleafnotes.com/wp/2005/05/the-shadows/

Nice shot!

With one of these, you can enjoy your garden even in chilly weather (although it does seem a bit too close to the building and fence). Great shadows anyway!

Gorgeous shadow shot, perhaps it is only garden art and not actually used.

Love the quote idea .. going to keep my eyes/ears open! The odd portable furnace is called a Chimera and its used to contain a fire outdoors on a deck or porch ...

I love how Shadow Shots are everywhere...we just have to look! Nice shadow shot! I use a lot of quotes and poetry with my Sunday Shadow Shots, so I'll keep an eye open for specific shadow ones.

I think it is called a chiminea (chim-in-AY-a) and they have them a lot in cool, not cold, climates. I want one! Gemma, I had a very strange popup from this site that said "Your download is beginning." That's not too good!

Graciousness... an absolutely the best evah SS.

My dream grill too.

Happy SSS, although I am so tardy this week-end but I managed.

Ha ha! The chiminea is a common site here in Phoenix, Arizona, since we are not that far from Mexico, where they generally are made! We had one in our back yard at our old house. That's a cool ShadowShot, especially coming from soooo far away as Australia. Happy SSS.
