Covered Bridge

Poetry is not only dream and vision;
it is the skeleton architecture of our lives.
It lays the foundations for a future of change,
a bridge across our fears
of what has
never been
before.
-Audre Lorde-
Covered Bridge displayed at Hanover Park in Burgettstown PA

  5. What a beautiful covered bridge. I don't think I've ever seen one in real life. Funny, huh?
    I also want to take this moment to thank the three of you for being so faithful in keeping this meme alive. I know that it takes time to do. Thank you so much for continuing on with it. It is always a bright spot in my life each week.

  10. Covered bridges always remind me of Bette Davis' movie "Harvest Home". A beautifully maintained bridge.

  12. This is beautiful and historic. There are a few covered bridges still in use in New England, and we who are used to easily crossing modern steel and concrete bridges tend to forget how hard it was to cross a river in those days. A nice survivor in its usual barn red paint...

  21. Nice picture of light and shadow. I always wondered how the coverd bridges came into existence in the first place.

Always remember, a sign of shadows means a sign of light.
Namaste.
