The Shadow Dance

A shadowy street scene in Zacatecas, Mexico

Along old walls shadows dance,
Not in Germany or France,
But in sunny Mexico—
See them prancing to and fro!

TAKE AIM AT THE SHADOWS!

There is no easy walk to freedom anywhere, and many of us will have to pass through the valley of the shadow of death again and again before we reach the mountaintop of our desires.

Shadow Shot Sunday - Shadows and Gold

This lady appears in Melbourne by the Yarra River each summer holidays.
She creates a very still, gold mime, with just a hint of movement - maybe a wink, maybe a slightly changing smile, maybe a very very slow turn.
Here she represents the tennis season currently happening in Melbourne.
And many people love to be photographed with her.

O silent lady
Are you longing to break free
From your coat of gold

Shadow quote from Red Nomad and her Amazing Australian Adventures blog:

DON'T FORGET!
I am seeking and collecting shadow quotes.
If you find a shadow quote, (or would like to create your own) include it in ANY of your SSS2 blog posts.
(There is now a button for shadow quotes just beneath the header. This will be a database of shadow quotes, so you will see what has been collected.)
Each time it is my turn to post on SSS2, I will include one of these quotes + a link to your blog post.

May the sunlight and shadows always be with you!

Here's a shadowy staircase that I found recently, and decided to present to all of you today:

There seems to be a custom on this meme to leave a haiku along with our photo, so I'll give it a shot:

Where shall I go now?

So many options lie here

up and down and up

All that's left now is for all of you to join along in the game! Just post something shadowy (and please link here when you do), and then sign up below! And don't forget to go and visit the other posts - it's fun to see shadows from all over the world!

Happy Sunday, everyone!

Through Sand and Shadow

An arroyo in Northern Arizona, USA

Through sand and shadow
I follow crooked pathways—
long is the journey.
