Spines of a cholla cactus, Anza-Borrego Desert, Southern California
Spines and shadows mingling
On the desert floor;
Something is a-tingling—
Who could ask for more?

The desert is beautiful, but the protective measures that cactus employ to stay safe look quite painful. Admire - but don't touch!
ReplyDeleteMMT ... I can almost feel the sharpness of this cactus .. perfect combination of soft light and shadows yet almost protected by these spines .. cute little poem too!
ReplyDeleteJoy : )
It's such a beautiful image, but I can't look it at too much as the thorns give me the eebie geebies!
