This lady appears in Melbourne by the Yarra River each summer holidays.
She creates a very still, gold mime, with just a hint of movement - maybe a wink, maybe a slightly changing smile, maybe a very very slow turn.
Here she represents the tennis season currently happening in Melbourne.
And many people love to be photographed with her.
O silent lady
Are you longing to break free
From your coat of gold

DON'T FORGET!
I am seeking and collecting shadow quotes.
If you find a shadow quote, (or would like to create your own) include it in ANY of your SSS2 blog posts.
(There is now a button for shadow quotes just beneath the header. This will be a database of shadow quotes, so you will see what has been collected.)
Each time it is my turn to post on SSS2, I will include one of these quotes + a link to your blog post.
May the sunlight and shadows always be with you!
Shadows cannot see themselves in the mirror of the sun - Eva Perron.................. Worry gives a small thing a big shadow - Swedish proverb ............................ Take everything that’s bright and beautiful in you and introduce it to the shadow side of yourself… When you are able to say, ‘I am … my shadow as well as my light,’ the shadow’s power is put in service of the good. - Parker J. Palmer........................You can only come to the morning through the shadows. - J.R.R. Tolkien

ReplyDeleteI get a kick out of living statues. The majority of them here in NYC seem to be Statues of Liberty (makes sense, but it's hard to hold your arm up like that for a long time).
